Where to sleep in Milos?
At Adamentas or Adamas
The port is a good option to sleep in Milos. Indeed, even if it is not the most beautiful village on the island, it enjoys many advantages. First, the village is animated with restaurants, taverns, ice cream parlors… On the other hand, most service providers services are in Adamentas (car rental, boat tours, ticket office, etc.). Finally, it is easy to get to the beach from the port, on foot or by public transport.
And in addition, the accommodation is a little cheaper there than elsewhere on the island. With a very good location, we recommend Malion Rooms. Or more chic Villa Notos. And for small budgets Filippos is ideal.
A turnkey solution: flight + accommodation
On the edge of a beautiful sandy beach with crystal clear waters, this beautiful hotel offers an enchanting setting. From 439 euros for 4 daysthe readers of Living Athens benefit from a reduction of 70 euros !

In Plaka
Plaka, the central village of the island is full of charmbut does not have no direct and easy access to the sea. There are not many accommodations.
Nevertheless, you will find different accommodations on the site Booking : hotels, apartments, houses… There are also houses to rent with family or friends on the site of Airbnb. A little further on Triovasalos, we also recommend accommodation with a magnificent view: Milos Dream Life.
In Pollonia
Located in the extreme North-East of the island, the village of Pollonia presents many interests. First, because it is located by the sea with a nice beach and one small harbor. The numbers bars and restaurants allow you not to take the car in the evening to eat. On the other hand, access to southern beaches is longer and requires renting a means of transport.
The village has some pretty boutique hotels: Kapetan Tasos and Delmar Appartment suites. More accessible and very well placed, we also recommend Heliotropio Studio and Appartment. Finally, more chic but absolutely superb: the 4-star Milos Breeze Boutique Hotel, equipped with an infinity pool with an exceptional view.
We really fell for CAPTAIN ZEPPOS HOTEL : small establishment, super refined and tasteful decor, facing the sea (there is only the road to cross). Assured crush !
At Klima
Let yourself be tempted by the charm of the fishermen’s houses. Some are available at Airbnb.
=> In general, you will find many accommodations on the Booking and Airbnb sites.

In the village of Plaka
Plaka is the main village of the island. Located high up, it does not lack charm and comes alive at the end of the afternoon and especially at sunset. The village is charming but very touristy. It is not always easy to find a table in the middle of August. Here are some of the best addresses in Milos, tested and approved.
Taverns and restaurants in Plaka
- Our favorite : Phatses. Located a little away from the crowd (below the main square), the tavern overlooks a shaded square. The cooks advocate the slow food and the right products. We enjoyed the beet-apple salad and a leg of lamb simmered with thyme and honey. Homemade fried potatoes are a treat.
- In the village, the traditional tavern Archontula. There are no big surprises on the menu, but the essential is there: family cooking with the great Greek classics. In summer, the tavern is taken by storm and the service and the quality of the dishes sometimes suffer.
Where to have a sunset drink in Milos?
The village of Plaka is known to benefit from a very beautiful sunset. The most athletic will go up to Kastro to admire the view. On the other hand, for those who want to quietly have a drink while watching the sun disappear, we recommend two pretty addresses.
- Utopia, a café overlooking the sea, with a very pretty terrace. Arrive early to get a good table.
- A little behind, next to the Panagia Korphiatissa church, Verina Cocktail & Food Bar also offers a few tables from where you can also see the view.
To end on a sweet note…
- The ice cream man Kokkino Podilato, offers very good Kayak ice cream (made in Greece). As well as gourmet waffles. It also offers something to eat during the day, brunch and pizza.
- And for those who are in lack of cakes, try it Palaios Coffee and Pastry. Very good also for a gourmet coffee break or breakfast.
On the port of Adamantas
A must when arriving by boat on the island, the port of Adamantas offers many solutions for eating out. Here are the addresses that we have tested and that we recommend.
- The ice cream parlor Aggeliki
- The tavern Oh Hamos, close to the beach on the road that runs along the coast. An institution on the island.
In Pollonia
Pollonia is a village in the far northeast of the island. The village comes alive in the evening with a pedestrian street lined with restaurants of fairly uneven quality. Better not to be mistaken.
- Gyalos, excellent tavern with good value for money. The seafood is well prepared.
- For fish, prefer the restaurant instead Enalion.
- If your rental does not include breakfast, go to Kivotos ton Gefseon. It not only offers a patio in the shade of a pergola but above all a superb breakfast. With in particular the famous galaktobourekoa traditional pastry cream cake.
Elsewhere on Milos
Restaurants
- Our favourite: SIROCCO restaurant in Palaiochori. Located by the sea, this restaurant offers revisited, modern and tasty Greek cuisine. With the added bonus of “volcanic dishes” cooked on the sand. Impeccable service. The little extra: everything is provided for families (high chairs, coloring, nappies in all sizes, etc.).
- AT Climatethis pretty fishing village, you cannot miss the tavern Astakas in the main square.
- Close to the incredible beach of Sarakinikodo not miss medusa, located in the village of Mandrakia. Indeed, it offers octopus, swordfish, smoked eel… delicious.
And for the best beach bars
